< Back to Our Staff

Lea is a native from Luxembourg, Europe, and has spent her whole youth playing basketball on a very competitive level. She played for the Basketball Club of the city she grew up in as well as the National Team of Luxembourg, touring Europe on many occasions. She occurred a knee injury during a finals game and required reconstructive knee surgery. It wasn’t until she received Acupuncture treatments at a Health Clinic in Santa Fe, NM, upon visiting one of her teammates in 1989 that she fully recovered from the surgery. This life changing experience prompted Lea to remain in the USA and study Oriental Medicine. She applied to Southwest Acupuncture College of Santa Fe, NM, in the summer of 1989 and graduated with a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine, granting her the Doctor of Oriental Medicine title in the state of NM.

She practiced in Albuquerque, NM, and served as Administrative Director and Faculty Member at SWAC (Southwest Acupuncture College) in Albuquerque until moving to Charleston in 1996. She practiced under Dr. Epting, renowned Anesthesiologist of Charleston in a clinic specializing in pain management. In 2001, Lea interrupted her private practice to return to Santa Fe, NM, to serve as Campus Director at SWAC for one year. Upon her return to Charleston in October of 2002, she joined Natural Health Center and maintains a thriving practice applying the oriental medical concept to treating not only acute and chronic pain but also common ailments ranging from respiratory, digestive, genito-urinary, reproductive, emotional and stress related conditions.
